CAK is the National Apex Organization for Kenya's Co-operative Movement. Its membership is drawn from over 14,000 registered Co-operatives that include the National Co-operative Organizations (NACOs), Co-operative Unions and Primary Co-operative Societies. The individual members to these Co-operatives are over 10 million with mobilized savings of over Kshs. 250 billion or 30% of National Savings. Those employed in the sector are over 555,000 persons.
CAK Membership is open to all cooperatives able to use their services and willing to accept the responsibilities of membership, without gender, social, political, racial, or religious discrimination.
To ensure that the interests of CAK members are safeguarded, CAK staff proactively engage with the relevant leaders of every society in order to identifies contemporary challenges which inhibit the growth of their societies to enable CAK to better looby for better environment in which the societies operates.
