Future-ready Co-operatives And Saccos Leadership Forum

The Co-operative Alliance of Kenya (CAK), in collaboration with the Institute of Directors (Kenya), is pleased to invite you to participate in the Future-Ready Cooperatives and Saccos Leadership Forum to be held from 6th September to 10th September 2026 at Sawela Lodges, Naivasha

The forum is themed: “Leading Future-Ready Cooperatives and Saccos: Governance, Digital Transformation and Sustainability in a Disruptive World.”

The Co-operative and SACCO sector is operating in an environment characterized by rapid technological change, evolving regulatory expectations, cybersecurity risks, climate-related pressures, and increasing economic uncertainty. These developments demand a new generation of leadership that is agile, innovative, resilient, and strategically prepared for the future.

As the Leaders of your institution, your role in providing strategic direction, strengthening governance, safeguarding members’ interests, and guiding institutional transformation is critical. This executive programme has therefore been designed to equip Co-operative leaders with practical insights, governance perspectives, and strategic leadership approaches necessary to build resilient and future-ready cooperative institutions.

The forum will focus on key contemporary issues shaping the future of Co-operative enterprises, including:

  • The future of co-operatives and SACCOs within emerging global and local trends;
  • Strategic leadership and governance in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Strategic investments for cooperatives and Sacco's resilience
  • Enterprise risk management and institutional resilience;
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Transformation, and Financial Technology (FINTECH);
  • Cybersecurity, fraud prevention, data privacy, and business continuity;
  • Climate change, ESG, and sustainable cooperative development; and
  • Leadership succession, talent management, and institutional transformation planning.

The forum will bring together Chairpersons, Board Directors, Supervisory Committee Members, Chief Executive Officers, Managing Directors, Senior Executives, and other Co-operative Leaders from across the country, providing a valuable platform for high-level dialogue, peer learning, experience sharing, and strategic networking.

We are confident that your participation will greatly enrich the deliberations while strengthening your institution’s preparedness to navigate emerging opportunities and challenges facing the cooperative sector.

We therefore cordially invite you to attend this important leadership forum and kindly request that you confirm your participation at your earliest convenience to facilitate the necessary logistical arrangements.

Participants are expected to report on 6th September 2026 for registration and check-in. The main forum sessions will run from 7th September 2026, while 10th September 2026 has been designated as the official departure date.
