<p>The Cooperative Alliance of Kenya (CAK) is the National Apex Organization for Kenya&#39;s Co-operative Movement. Our mandate as CAK is advocacy and lobbying for a favorable legal and policy environment for the cooperatives movement of Kenya. Our membership is drawn from <strong>over 28,000 registered Co-operatives</strong>, according to the State Department of Cooperatives that include the National Co-operative Organizations (NACOs), Co-operative Unions and Primary Co-operative Societies. The individual members of these Co-operatives have <strong>over Kshs. 250 billion in Savings</strong>.</p>

<p>To this end, we are delighted to extend our warmest invitation to <strong>the Cabinet Secretary&rsquo;s Annual Cooperative Leaders&rsquo; Conference </strong>scheduled for the <strong>7th &ndash; 10th November 2023 </strong>at <strong>Sawela Lodge, Naivasha</strong>. The theme is <strong><em>Cooperatives Engaging Sustainable &amp; Climate Friendly Practices To Spur Economic Growth in Communities.</em> </strong>The forum is a joint collaborative effort between the <strong>Cooperative Alliance of Kenya </strong>and the <strong>Office of the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives &amp; Micro, Small &amp; Medium Enterprises</strong>.&nbsp; The keynote speaker shall be the <strong>Hon. Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Simon Chelugui, EGH</strong>.</p>

<p>This event aims to bring together Cooperative Leaders, policy makers, experts, and representatives from various sectors to foster collaboration, exchange ideas, and drive positive change. This forum gives an opportunity for the Honorable Cabinet Secretary to expound the vision for the sector and give updates on the National Government Agenda, share and review performance of the previous year and plan for the way forward. The expected output of this collaborative effort is a joint sector report, which takes stock of the movement and its alignment with the <strong>Bottom-Up Economic Agenda (BETA).</strong></p>

<p>The event will serve as a platform for meaningful discussions from the various sub-sectors and knowledge sharing on progress and areas of collaborations and intervention</p>

<p>by Government and key players. The sub-sectors are: <strong>Coffee, Tea, Dairy, Financial Services, Housing, Transport &amp; Worker Cooperatives</strong> just to mention a few.</p>

<p>The program for the event, which shall be <strong>shared in due course</strong>, includes thought-provoking keynote speeches, interactive panel discussions, and engaging workshops, all designed to stimulate innovative thinking and inspire actionable solutions. The event provides further opportunities to engage with like-minded individuals, forge new partnerships, and explore potential areas of collaboration.</p>
